Hello, I’m Amber
Art Director and Designer based in Parkdale, Toronto. It’s fair to say, it all started with Ryerson’s Fashion Communication program and earning my Bachelor’s degree in design, specializing in Fashion. I’ve since worked at The Kit, a fashion and beauty magazine with the Toronto Star, the Canadian branch of international aid organization, World Vision, and creative advertising agency A Plus Creative.
During my time at The Kit, I designed for the weekly newspaper edition, language editions and the monthly millennial-targeted pop-up magazine. In this role, I developed my skills in art direction for social platforms plus programmed special digital projects such as the tablet-focused Star Touch and The Kit Beauty Guides. Transitioning to a position strongly focused on marketing, my focus became to design and pitch brand partnerships, promotional events, and collaborative projects.
With World Vision, I had the opportunity to execute a variety of projects from event design, customized publications, package design and campaign assets. My most notable work included designing their annual report as well as developing a visual style guide for donor reports, which resulted in long-term partnerships with several foundations.
While at A Plus Creative, I had the opportunity to work with a variety of top fashion, beauty and lifestyle brands on e-commerce, digital, social media and print campaigns through design, art direction and strategic creative planning. A large part of my role has focused on concepts, social and digital strategies, plus on-set art direction for photography and video.
